Hey everyone, I’ve been diving into tracking my daily gas consumption, and I thought I’d share my experience and some tips that might help others who are looking to do the same.
First off, I set up a daily gas meter helper to monitor my usage. The progress overview gives me a clear curve of how my consumption changes over time, which is super useful. However, I wanted something a bit more streamlined—specifically, I wanted to see the gas meter reading right before it resets at midnight.
I discovered that there’s an attribute showing the previous day’s value, but honestly, that wasn’t enough for me. I explored exporting data from the progress overview, but that just gave me a huge CSV file with every single data point, which was way more than I needed.
After some research and experimentation, I found a neat workaround. I now use a simple script that pulls the gas meter reading at 23:59 every day and logs it in a separate file. This way, I have a clean, easy-to-read record of my daily gas usage without the clutter of every minor fluctuation.
If anyone else is looking to simplify their data tracking or has tips on how to make this process even smoother, I’d love to hear about it! Let’s share our experiences and learn from each other. ![]()
