I recently got an Arduino and decided to dive into a fun project—tracking my pets around the house! We have two large dogs and three cats, and when we leave, we close all bedroom and bathroom doors to keep them in the living room. I’d love to monitor which rooms they’re in using sensors connected to my tablet running Hadashboard.
My initial idea involves placing two sensors on each doorway to detect movement direction. By counting entries and exits, I can track their locations. I’m pretty new to Arduino, so I’m curious if anyone has experience with similar setups or any tips to make this project easier or more efficient. Maybe there’s a smarter way to achieve this without too much complexity? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
This project has me excited about the possibilities of using simple sensors for everyday monitoring. It’s a great way to combine tech with our daily lives, and I can’t wait to see how it turns out! ![]()
