Hey everyone, I just wanted to share a fun project I worked on over the weekend! My brother gave me this floor lamp from Amazon, and while it was a nice gesture, I wasn’t too excited about the built-in light strip. But then I had an idea—why not replace it with a Govee RGBIC light strip? I’ve been really impressed with Govee’s products, and I knew this would be a great way to integrate it into my smart home setup.
So, I went ahead and took the lamp apart. It was a bit of a hassle, but definitely doable. Once I got to the light strip, I carefully removed it and replaced it with the Govee strip. It took a bit of tweaking to get everything aligned properly, but the end result was worth it! Now, I have a fully customizable floor lamp that’s part of my Govee family. I can control the colors and brightness through my phone, and it’s been a great addition to my living room.
This project not only saved me from having to deal with a generic light strip but also gave me a chance to get creative with my smart home setup. If anyone else is looking to give their traditional lamps a tech upgrade, I’d highly recommend trying something like this out! It’s a fun way to repurpose old items and add some personality to your space. ![]()
