Hey everyone! I wanted to share a quick update on a fun project I’ve been working on. My son loves gaming, and I wanted to create a cool setup for him when he stays over. I decided to go with Govee lights for the under-cabinet lighting in his room, and I have to say, it’s turned out amazing!
I started by installing the Govee H705A and H70B1 lights. The H705A is perfect for the front of the house, especially with the Christmas tree and the gradient effects. It’s so vibrant and really sets the mood. The H70B1, on the other hand, is great for the driveway and front walkway. I’ve been able to set it to white when we’re coming home at night, which is super convenient.
One thing I was worried about was the length of the light strips. I have a 100-foot set, and I had to loop the extra 5 feet back on itself in the back of the house. I was afraid it might look messy, but it actually worked out perfectly! I just had to make sure the segments were positioned correctly to match the corners of the house.
I also played around with the DIY mode in the Govee app. It’s so cool how you can create custom layers and effects. I was able to set up different scenes for gaming, relaxing, and even some festive looks for holidays. The app is user-friendly, and I love how customizable everything is.
Overall, I’m really happy with how this project turned out. It’s been a great way to combine my love for home automation with creating a fun space for my son. If anyone else is thinking about adding some Govee lights to their home, I highly recommend it! The versatility and ease of use make it a great choice for both beginners and seasoned tinkerers like myself. Cheers to all the Govee fans out there! ![]()
