Ever since I embarked on my home automation journey, I’ve been on a quest to create a space that’s not only functional but also elegant and energy-efficient. My recent adventure with smart lighting has been nothing short of transformative, and I wanted to share my experiences and insights with the community. The Quest for the Perfect Lighting Solution I’ve always been fascinated by the idea of controlling my home’s lighting with precision and ease. After researching various options, I decided to go with a combination of 24v FCOB and RGB LED lights for my garden house. The goal was to achieve a balance between functionality and aesthetics without compromising on energy efficiency. Installation and Initial Impressions The installation process was a breeze, thanks to the versatility of these LED solutions. I opted for a 4m CCT FCOB strip along the gable to illuminate the open first floor and the front half of the ground floor. For the kitchen and bathroom, 1.5m FCOB strips provided the perfect ambiance. The ground floor underneath the first floor was illuminated with RGB LEDs for a touch of creativity and fun. The Results Speak for Themselves The outcome exceeded my expectations. The FCOB strips delivered consistent and bright illumination, while the RGB LEDs added a playful dimension to the space. I was particularly impressed with how these LEDs integrated seamlessly with my Home Assistant setup, allowing me to control them via scene switches and WLED.
