Hey everyone, I just wanted to share a fun project I recently completed using my Govee curtain lights. It’s been a fantastic way to add some personality to my home while diving deeper into the world of smart home automation. Let me walk you through how I did it!
The Vision
I’ve always loved the idea of using lighting to create a welcoming atmosphere, but I wanted something a bit more unique. After seeing some creative setups online, I decided to combine my Govee curtain lights with a wooden box to not only hide the cables but also add a decorative touch to my space. The result? A stunning centerpiece that doubles as a functional smart device!
The Process
- Materials Needed: I gathered my Govee curtain lights, a wooden box, some mirror foil, crystal beads, and adhesive. I also made sure to have a measuring tape and some decorative elements like faux flowers on hand.
- Designing the Layout: I sketched out where I wanted the wooden box and the lights to go. The box would serve as both a base and a cable organizer, which was a huge plus!
- Preparing the Wooden Box: I decided to keep the box in its natural wood finish but added mirror foil to the sides for a reflective effect. It gave the setup a modern and sleek look.
- Attaching the Lights: I laid out the Govee lights inside the box, making sure they were evenly distributed. It was a bit tricky getting them to fit just right, but the glow they produced was worth every minute!
- Hiding the Cables: I drilled a small hole in the back of the box for the power plug and used cable organizers to keep everything neat. No more unsightly wires!
- Adding the Finishing Touches: I placed some crystal beads and faux flowers around the box to give it that extra decorative flair. It really tied the whole look together!
The Outcome
I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out! The lights create a soft, ambient glow that completely transforms the room. Plus, being able to control them via my smartphone adds a whole new level of convenience. It’s been a great way to experiment with smart home tech while adding a personal touch to my space.
