I’ve been a happy user of the Trashcan Reminder 2.0 app for notifications on my phone regarding trash pickup schedules. Until recently, I had a Home Assistant dashboard where I could see future pickup dates for each type of trash—whether it was today, tomorrow, or later. Now, I’m in the process of switching to a Homey dashboard using Hdashboards.app, and I’ve successfully replicated most of the functionality from my old setup. However, there’s one feature I’m struggling to replicate: the trash pickup card that shows future dates beyond just today, tomorrow, or the day after.
The Trashcan Reminder app does have all the correct pickup dates available, but it only provides options for the next few days, not specific dates like “01-12-2023” for the next pickup. I noticed there’s a JSON file with all the dates, but I’m not sure how to extract that data. If I could get the next pickup date for each trash type as a tag or some kind of variable, I’d be able to display it on my dashboard. Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
