Hi everyone, I’ve been having some trouble resetting my Amazon Tap. Whenever I try, I see a flashing violet light, and the Alexa app keeps saying, ‘Preparing your Amazon Tap.’ It’s been a bit frustrating, but I thought I’d share what I’ve learned and maybe get some advice from the community.
First off, I’ve tried the basic troubleshooting steps: unplugging the device, waiting a few minutes, and then plugging it back in. I’ve also made sure my Alexa app is up to date. Still, the issue persists. I wonder if others have experienced this or if there’s a specific reason why the app is stuck on ‘Preparing.’
I’ve also noticed that the device seems to work fine once it’s set up, but the reset process is just giving me a hard time. Maybe it’s a temporary glitch on Amazon’s end? I’m not sure. If anyone has any tips or tricks, I’d really appreciate hearing them!
On a lighter note, I’ve been impressed with how seamlessly other Amazon devices integrate into my smart home setup. It’s just this Tap reset issue that’s been a bit of a pain point. I’m hopeful that with some community input, I can get this sorted out and back to enjoying all the great features the Tap has to offer.
