Hey everyone!
I hope you’re all having a great day. I wanted to share my recent experiences with my smart home setup and see if anyone has encountered similar issues or has tips to share.
I’ve been using various smart devices for a while now, including my Somfy awnings, Wyze cameras, and Hubitat ecosystem. It’s amazing how much these devices have improved my daily life, from automating my lighting to keeping an eye on my home while I’m away. However, I recently ran into a snag with my Somfy awnings after updating my system to version 2.5.5.
The issue started when I tried to control my awnings through the app, and I kept getting error messages about incompatible values. The logs showed something like this:
2020-07-05 11:29:34.160 [WARN ] [nal.handler.SomfyTahomaBridgeHandler] - Apply command response: {“errorCode”:“INCOMPATIBLE_VALUE”,“error”:“setDeployment() : Invalid value for command parameter p1 : expected integer value between 0 and 100 but got 100.0”}
At first, I was a bit puzzled since everything worked perfectly before the update. After some research, I realized the issue might be related to how the app processes the awning positions. I decided to test the awnings manually using the original remote, and they worked fine. That gave me some relief but also highlighted the need to resolve the app issue.
While waiting for a potential fix from the developers, I thought I’d share some tips that might help others facing similar challenges:
- Check for Firmware Updates: Always ensure your devices and hubs are running the latest firmware. This can often resolve compatibility issues after system updates.
- Use Community Resources: Forums like this one are invaluable. If you encounter an issue, chances are someone else has faced it too and might have a solution.
- Test Manually First: Before diving into troubleshooting, test your devices manually to isolate the problem. This can save you time and frustration.
On a more positive note, I recently discovered how to integrate my Aqara P2 sensors with Hubitat using a Google Nest Hub. It took some trial and error, but the process was rewarding once everything connected smoothly. I’d be happy to share the steps if anyone is interested!
Smart home automation is such a fascinating space, and it’s incredible to see how far it’s come. I’m excited to continue exploring and enhancing my setup. If anyone has tips or experiences to share, I’d love to hear them!
Cheers, and happy automating! ![]()
