Troubleshooting Blink XT2 Camera Recording Issues

Hello everyone, I hope you’re all doing well! I’ve been using Blink XT2 cameras for a few years now, and they’ve been working perfectly for me. However, I recently purchased a refurbished XT2 camera to add to my system, and I’m encountering an issue where the new camera is prompting me to set up a subscription to enable video recording. This is a bit confusing because my existing XT2 cameras have always recorded without any subscription, using the Blink module for storage.

I’ve done some research and understand that older Blink cameras are grandfathered in with on-site storage, but it seems the refurbished camera is behaving differently. I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue or has any advice on how to resolve it. I’d really prefer not to set up a subscription, as I’ve been using Blink to avoid monthly fees.

Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

  • Checked Storage: My system is maintaining between 15-30% free storage, so it’s not a space issue.
  • Reviewed Settings: I’ve double-checked the camera settings to ensure everything is configured correctly.
  • Contacted Support: I reached out to Blink support, but the response was quite generic and didn’t address my specific situation.
