Hey everyone, I wanted to share my experience with a connectivity issue I’ve been having with my Philips Hue lights and Homey setup. I’ve noticed that sometimes my lights only respond when I’m within a few meters of them, which is pretty inconvenient. After doing some research and experimenting, I thought I’d share what I’ve learned so far in case anyone else is facing similar issues.
First off, I’ve tried resetting both the bulbs and the Homey device multiple times, but that didn’t seem to help. I also checked the firmware versions to make sure everything was up to date. It turns out that the problem might be related to the Zigbee network itself. I’ve heard that sometimes the network can get congested, especially if there are a lot of devices in the area. To test this, I tried moving some of my other Zigbee devices further away to see if that made a difference, but unfortunately, it didn’t solve the issue.
Another thing I noticed is that the problem seems to be more pronounced in certain parts of my house. I’ve read that metal objects and thick walls can interfere with Zigbee signals, so I’m planning to try repositioning my bulbs or adding a Zigbee extender to see if that helps. I’ve also come across some advice about ensuring that the Homey is placed in a central location to maximize coverage.
I’d love to hear from anyone who’s had similar experiences or who might have some additional tips. Have you found any solutions or workarounds for connectivity issues with Philips Hue and Homey? I’m really hoping to get this sorted out so I can fully enjoy the convenience of my smart lighting setup. Thanks in advance for any advice you can share!
