Hello everyone, I wanted to share a recent experience I had with my HomeMatic setup that might be helpful for others. I recently noticed that my CCU1 was experiencing intermittent connectivity issues, which were quite frustrating. The symptoms included no response to pings and the green status LED on the Ethernet port turning orange. At first, I suspected the CCU itself might be faulty, but upon closer inspection, I realized it was still responding to sensor inputs and displaying information correctly. This ruled out hardware issues with the CCU itself.
After some research, I decided to test the Ethernet cable that came with the system. Using a cable tester, I discovered that the issue was with the wiring inside the RJ-45 connector—not the cable itself. Once I replaced the faulty cable with a new one, the CCU was back online, and everything functioned smoothly again.
This experience taught me the importance of checking network cables, especially the ones that come with devices, as they can sometimes be the root cause of connectivity problems. If you’re experiencing similar issues, I highly recommend testing your cables before diving into more complex troubleshooting steps. It’s a simple fix that can save a lot of time and frustration!
If anyone else has encountered similar problems or has tips for diagnosing network issues, I’d love to hear about them. Let’s keep the community knowledge flowing! ![]()
