Hello everyone! I’m really excited about exploring the full potential of HomeKit, especially the color picker feature for my LED lights. However, I’ve encountered a puzzling issue that I hope the community can help me solve.
I’ve set up my LED Floodlight RGB with the intention of controlling its color through Siri. While the setup itself seems straightforward, I’m experiencing some unexpected behavior. When I command Siri to change the color to red, green, or blue, the LED doesn’t settle on the desired color. Instead, it flickers between the correct color and another unintended one. This is quite frustrating as it defeats the purpose of having precise color control.
Looking at the logs, I notice that the item receives multiple commands in quick succession. For instance, when I say, ‘LED Floodlight red,’ the command log shows several entries, including the correct color values and an unexpected one. This pattern repeats for green and blue as well. Interestingly, when I use the iPhone’s HomeKit app, the color changes without any issues, which makes me think the problem might be specific to Siri or the integration with my smart home hub.
I’ve double-checked my item definitions and the sitemap configuration, and everything seems to be in order. The item is correctly defined as a Color type, and the sitemap uses a Colorpicker widget. I’ve also tried resetting the device and the hub, but the issue persists.
Has anyone else encountered this behavior? I’m curious to know if this is a known bug or if there’s a workaround to ensure the LED Floodlight RGB consistently displays the chosen color. Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you in advance for your help, and I look forward to hearing from you!
