Troubleshooting Motion Detection on Cameras

I’ve been trying to get motion detection working on my cameras, but it’s been a bit of a challenge. I have a mix of V1 cams and a Cam Pan, and while the Cam Pan is detecting people, neither it nor the V1s are triggering motion events. I’ve checked the settings, and everything seems to be in order—sensitivity is set to high, and the firmware is up to date.

I decided to dig deeper into the issue. I started by reviewing the camera placement and ensuring there were no blind spots. I also looked into the logs to see if there were any errors or warnings that could give me a clue. Unfortunately, everything looked normal.

After some research, I found that sometimes motion detection can be affected by environmental factors like lighting changes or background noise. I tried adjusting the camera angles and reducing motion in the background areas. While this didn’t solve the problem immediately, it was a good learning experience.

I also reached out to the community for advice. Someone suggested checking the camera’s firmware again, even though it showed as up to date. I manually updated one of the V1 cams just to be sure, and to my surprise, motion detection started working! It seems like a minor firmware tweak made all the difference.

This experience taught me the importance of thorough troubleshooting and not being afraid to try small adjustments. If you’re having similar issues, I’d recommend checking for firmware updates, reviewing camera placement, and ensuring there are no environmental factors interfering. Happy troubleshooting everyone! :rocket:
