Hey everyone,
I wanted to share my experience with the Wyze Cam OG connectivity issues, as this seems to be a common problem many users are facing. I’ve been using my Wyze Cam OG for about a year and a half, and while it’s generally been reliable, I’ve encountered some frustrating connectivity problems over the past month.
The Problem
The camera stopped connecting to my network. When I try to set it up, it never says “Ready to connect,” and I’m not sure if it’s resetting properly when I hold the Setup button for 30 seconds. The LED light stays blinking red instead of turning solid red, which is a clear sign something’s wrong. Even after going through the entire setup process in the app, I end up with a “Connecting failed” message.
What I’ve Tried
I’ve exhausted most of the standard troubleshooting steps:
- Resetting the camera multiple times
- Removing the SD card
- Reinstalling the Wyze app
- Restarting my router
- Checking Bluetooth permissions
- Testing on three different Android devices
- Ensuring my network is running on the correct 2.4 GHz band
- Trying a new power cable
Despite all this, the issue persists. I’m starting to think there might be a hardware problem or perhaps a firmware issue with the camera itself.
Seeking Solutions
Has anyone else experienced similar issues with their Wyze Cam OG? I’d love to hear if there are any additional troubleshooting steps I can try or if others have found a solution to this problem. I’m really hoping to get this camera back up and running without having to purchase a replacement.
If anyone has any insights or suggestions, please let me know. I’m all ears and willing to try anything at this point!
Cheers,
