Troubleshooting Z-Wave Device Recognition in OpenHAB 2

Hi everyone! I’m really excited about integrating my ASPIRERF RF9500 Z-Wave switch into my smart home setup using OpenHAB. However, I’ve encountered a bit of a hurdle that I’m hoping you can help me overcome. I’ve been using OpenHAB for a while now, and I’ve always appreciated its flexibility and robustness, so this issue is a bit puzzling to me.I recently added this battery-powered ASPIRERF RF9500 switch to my system, and while it worked seamlessly with my Z-Wave setup, I’m having trouble getting it recognized in OpenHAB 2. I’ve confirmed that the device is listed in the Z-Wave database under Cooper Wiring Devices RF9500, which is reassuring. However, despite multiple attempts to remove and re-add the device using my Aeotec Z-Stick Gen5, it still doesn’t show up in OpenHAB 2. This is frustrating because I know the device works—I tested it in OpenHAB 1.8.3 on a Windows laptop, and it recognized and configured the switch without any issues.I’ve included some logs from the OpenHAB console below for reference. They show that the device is being detected but not properly recognized. I’m wondering if there’s a configuration step I’m missing or if there’s a known issue with OpenHAB 2 that I should be aware of.plaintext13:48:15.424 [WARN ] [wave.discovery.ZWaveDiscoveryService] - NODE 6: Device discovery could not resolve to a thingType! 7FFFFFFF:7FFFFFFF:7FFFFFFF::0.013:48:15.427 [INFO ] [g.discovery.internal.PersistentInbox] - Added new thing ‘zwave:device:2e29efd4:node6’ to inbox.13:48:15.427 [DEBUG] [ve.internal.protocol.ZWaveController] - ZWave controller start inclusion - mode 213:48:15.428 [INFO ] [smarthome.event.InboxAddedEvent ] - Discovery Result with UID ‘zwave:device:2e29efd4:node6’ has been added…13:48:19.778 [INFO ] [smarthome.event.ThingAddedEvent ] - Thing ‘zwave:device:2e29efd4:node6’ has been added.13:48:19.799 [DEBUG] [ding.zwave.handler.ZWaveThingHandler] - NODE 6: Controller status changed to ONLINE.13:48:19.799 [DEBUG] [ding.zwave.handler.ZWaveThingHandler] - NODE 6: Controller is ONLINE. The fact that it works in OpenHAB 1.8.3 but not in 2.0 makes me think there might be a compatibility issue or a configuration difference between the two versions. I’m wondering if anyone else has encountered this problem or if there are any known workarounds. If anyone has any insights or suggestions, I’d be incredibly grateful. I’m really looking forward to getting this device fully integrated into my setup. Let me know if you need any additional information from me to help troubleshoot this issue. Thanks in advance for your help and support! I look forward to hearing from you.
