Hi everyone, I’m reaching out to seek some guidance on integrating my new Fibaro FGKF-601 Keyfobs with OpenHAB. I’ve been using OpenHAB for about 4-5 years now, and I recently upgraded to version 2.0. The upgrade went smoothly, and I’ve been able to add several Z-Wave devices without any issues. However, things took a turn when I decided to add these keyfobs to my setup.
After a lot of tinkering, including resetting my Z-Wave controller (AEONLABS gen5), I managed to get the keyfobs to communicate with my system. I can see the scene updates being processed correctly in the binding, and the logs show the correct ControllerID. I even went the extra mile to manually add some items in a .item file, hoping that would resolve the issue. Unfortunately, despite all these efforts, I’m still unable to get the values into the items.
I’ve read through several threads in this forum about the need to update the Z-Wave database to include these keyfobs, but I couldn’t find clear instructions on how to do this. I assumed that manually adding the items would bypass the need for a database update, but clearly, that wasn’t the case. I’m running OpenHAB 2.0 on a Windows 64-bit system, and I’m wondering if there’s something specific I’m missing in the configuration.
If anyone has successfully integrated these keyfobs or has experience with updating the Z-Wave database, I’d greatly appreciate any advice or tips you can share. I spent a good portion of my weekend trying to get this to work, and I’m eager to find a solution. Thanks in advance for your help!
Best regards,
Frederico
