Hi everyone, I’m reaching out to share my recent experience with troubleshooting a Z-Wave network issue and to seek some advice from the community. I recently acquired a Z-Wave Toolbox to help diagnose a problem where my scene controller works perfectly on the first press but struggles with subsequent presses unless there’s a 30-second rest period. This delay causes either a slow response or no response at all, which is quite frustrating.
Through the Toolbox, I discovered some unexpected behaviors. For instance, some devices seemed to try communicating through removed devices, so I healed all devices connected to those missing nodes. This helped, but I noticed that occasionally, devices would switch between communicating directly with the master node (node 1) and then requiring 3-4 hops later. I also observed that after the initial successful command, a flurry of unnecessary messages would flood the network, potentially causing the issue.
I’m wondering if there’s something specific about scene commands that might require a response from other devices on the network. If anyone has encountered similar issues or has insights into this behavior, I’d greatly appreciate your input. I’m happy to provide logs or additional details if needed.
