Hello everyone, I hope this message finds you well. I’ve been trying to upgrade my smoke detectors from the V1 First Alert ZCOMBO to the V2 models, but I’m running into some issues with SmartThings. Despite installing both the Z-Wave Smoke Alarm and Z-Wave Smoke Alarm-MC drivers, the new detectors are still being recognized as generic Z-Wave switches. This is quite frustrating as I was expecting seamless integration.
I’ve tried everything from resetting the devices, removing and re-adding them through the QR code method, and even manually specifying the driver information. Unfortunately, none of these steps have resolved the issue. The devices don’t show any model information or manufacturer codes, which makes me think there might be a firmware or integration problem on SmartThings’ end.
Has anyone else encountered similar issues with the V2 detectors? I’d greatly appreciate any advice or workarounds you might have. I’m also considering reaching out to SmartThings support, but I wanted to check if there’s a community solution first.
