TRV Temperature Issues and Boost Mode Activation

Hey everyone, I’m reaching out to see if anyone has encountered a similar issue with their TRV (Thermostatic Radiator Valves). A few weeks ago, we installed several TRVs, and while they’re a great addition to our home, we’ve noticed some quirks that we’re hoping to resolve.

The main issue we’re facing is that the temperatures are consistently 4-5 degrees higher than what we set on the valves. This is particularly noticeable in our lounge, where the TRV seems to be constantly requesting the boiler to switch on. To address this, we’ve tried manually adjusting the slider on the TRVs by tapping on the tiles and dragging it down to reduce the heat demand. However, this action inadvertently activates the boost mode, which isn’t ideal.

We’re wondering if this is a software or hardware issue. Could it be that the TRVs need a complete reset and reinstallation? We’re using the TADO app on both Android and iOS devices, so we’re curious if others have experienced similar problems or have found a workaround.

Another thought we had was whether the boost mode activation is a feature or a bug. It would be helpful to know if there’s a way to disable this behavior or if it’s something that can be adjusted through the app settings. We’re also considering if the issue might be related to how the TRVs communicate with the boiler or if there’s a calibration step we missed during installation.

If anyone has successfully resolved similar issues or has insights into how the TRVs operate, we’d greatly appreciate your input. It would be fantastic to find a solution that allows us to maintain the desired temperature without the boost mode interfering. Thanks in advance for your help!
