Hey everyone! I’m really excited to share my experience with the Tuya-based garage door opener I installed recently. It’s this model from henractech: Smart Gate/Garage Door Opener Switch V2. The setup process went smoothly, and I was thrilled to see it recognized and functioning perfectly as a switch in Home Assistant. However, there’s a snag I’m hoping someone can help me with.
The issue is that while the opener itself works flawlessly, the sensors for detecting open and close states aren’t being recognized by Home Assistant. This means I can’t set up any automations based on the door’s state, which is a bit disappointing. I’ve scoured the forums and documentation, and it seems like this might not be supported yet. I’m curious if anyone has found a workaround or if there’s any progress being made on this front.
In the meantime, I’ve been managing with the Smart Life app, but I’d love to integrate everything seamlessly into Home Assistant.
