U100 Battery Life

Yes, an older issue and one that has been written about for years. I am new the U100 and am shocked by how fast batteries are being burned. For reference, a basic battery on a Yale Real Living Lock (set of 4 rechargeable AA’s even) last about 8 months. Meanwhile, the U100 might last days or if lucky weeks. No hub. Apple Home Kit, with the Apple driving device about 15 feet aaway. Doo and lock are not in heavy rotation or use…maybe twice a day (generally from iPhone homekit, or on occassion keypad or fingerprint.)

Yep, can’t get over it - and this was the first time looking for support and that seems non-existent? Support dangles FAQs, nothing much on the website and hen directed here to the forum - so sorry all - this is really meant for Aqara support.

Fresh batteries, freshly charged batteries - all burning quick. Issue is not the calibre or longevity of the batteries themselves. …many (including freshly purchased.) Tell me these need to lithium batteries and I will probably switch back to Yale or another brand … no way we should be buying exepsnive lithiums for a smart lock.

Thank you all…

The U100 was one of their first smart locks and you’re right battery life is not great - common complaint. Having an aqara hub close by can help, but even then it’s not going to last 6 months.

Later models like U300 and U400 are much better. Lithium batteries aren’t necessary and would frustrate you because battery % status is inaccurate.

Ouch…so stuck w/a battery drain lock? Not cool.
