U100 Smart lock often blinks RED lock Symbol

One of my 3 U100 Smart locks is often flashing a RED padlock symbol on the outside and it seems to flash until i do something, open the door, lock and unlock the deadbolt… This incessant flashing causes the batteries in this lock do need replacing every 4-6 weeks.

What is this about?
