Really wish they had chosen one design language for all the locks. I have a U100 for my front and rear doors with a squared off design and the U300 for a few inside doors with rounded design. My OCD needs consistency. All the other non smart door levers in my home have a square back plate so the U300 doesn’t match well.
@itinj24 It’s great that you’re paying attention to the design of your smart home devices! The desire for consistency in design is very understandable, especially when it comes to maintaining a cohesive look in your home. The U100 and U300 do indeed have different design languages, with the U100 featuring a more squared-off look, while the U300 has a rounded design. This distinction is likely due to the different functionalities and target uses of each model.
While it may be challenging to achieve a perfect match with existing non-smart door levers, the unique features of each lock—such as the ergonomic fingerprint reader on the U300—might offer additional benefits that outweigh the aesthetic differences. Thank you for sharing your thoughts, and we hope Aqara continues to innovate with design and functionality that caters to diverse tastes and needs. Feel free to share more of your smart home experiences!
It’s great that we have users who share your passion for the design language. We’ll pass on your feedback to the design team. In the future, we aim to tailor the design language based on regional needs—using the U100 design language in the United States and the U200 design language in Europe.
