U100 Unresponsive

Extremely frustrating experience with my U100 smartlock. My batteries died while on vacation so I swapped them out, successfully as the Aqara app showed full battery and a valid Bluetooth connection. But the device itself was unresponsive: no keypad inputs, no thumbprint input. Tried to update firmware but it would download and fail to transfer to the device (tried this like 10 times). Tried removing and replacing batteries multiple times (waiting for different amounts of time). Tried resetting but reset button not lit up or responsive. Lock worked via the app unlock and lock feature but other than the ding on the keypad to register that your finger was pressing a button no physical buttons worked. Tried removing and reinstalling the lock in the Aqara app but would not read the lock QR code or accept the product number when manually input (said it was incorrect code). Set button, as noted, does not register inputs. Via Reddit this seems to be a recurring issue that was solved for some by removing and replacing one or all batteries but I tried this and it does not work. Any other possible short term fixes before they send me a new (hopefully functional?) unit?

Hi Rahawala, we are sorry for the inconvenience you have gone through. We’ve reviewed the problem and, before the replacement lock arrives, we recommend using the physical key to unlock/lock the door. We will conduct a diagnostic analysis on the lock once it is returned. Please avoid performing a reset.
Additionally, it would be really helpful if you could provide the battery model you were using.

I’m having an identical experience with the exception that my energizer Max batteries still had plenty of charge. This also happened recently (this post shows it is 3 days old) out of nowhere.

I also noticed a recent similar post with not being able to update through the app (Failed Firmware Updates on U100 Smart Lock).

I just had the same issue where the keypad is unresponsive. I am trying to update the firmware but it keeps failing. Strange that a few people are having the same issue all at the same time. What changed? My current firmware, according to HomeKit, is 1.1.20

I have the same problem. Like every two 2 weeks I can change my battery because the touchpad is unreSponsive but with the app i can open/close the lock. According to the app is the battery status ok. Otherwise I should get a low battery message. My firmware is updated.

Waiting now for feedback from Aqara support.

I’m having the exact same problem. Despite multiple battery changes, my lock is completely unresponsive. Can’t even connect to my app via bluetooth or do a hard reset from the lock.

Does anyone know how to get a replacement?
