I purchased a used Aqara Smart Lock U200 (Model: EL-D02E, SN: A01398/LS1EJZ00470, Firmware: 3.0.0_0077) with the wireless keypad. The previous owner did not provide the admin password.
Current situation:
The lock was previously paired with Apple Home via Matter. I have since removed it from Apple Home, but I cannot factory reset it or pair it to a new ecosystem.
What I have tried:
1. Pressing Lock + Confirm on the keypad simultaneously for 3–5 seconds to enter Reset Mode, then pressing Reset button on the lock module for 10 seconds — the keypad interrupts the process asking for the admin password before the reset completes.
2. Moving the keypad away (it’s wireless) and pressing only the Reset button on the lock module for 10–30 seconds — no response at all without the keypad initiating Reset Mode first.
3. Pressing Lock + Confirm on the keypad, then immediately pressing Reset on the module — the lock produces 8 beeps but does NOT reset. The Set button still shows double red LED flash + double beep, indicating it’s still in a paired/locked state.
4. Attempting to add to Aqara Home app (I have an Aqara Hub M3) — fails with “Device not found”, as the lock is not broadcasting in Discovery Mode.
What I need:
A way to fully factory reset the lock without the admin password, so I can pair it fresh to Aqara Home + M3, and then share it to Apple Home via Matter.
Is there a known workaround for firmware 0077? I’ve read that this firmware version may have reset-related bugs. My second U200 running firmware 0085 resets normally without issues.
Any help from the community or Aqara team would be greatly appreciated!
