I got my u400 installed tonight to replace a failing ZigBee lock I bought years ago. I love how fast the fingerprint reader is. I can’t wait for it to eventually one day support Android devices via UWB thanks to Aliro.
I was disappointed to find out that the name of the user who unlock the door is not sent through matter/thread. I had this with a simple ZigBee lock that was several years old… This is a big impact my automations because I had several automations for different people tied to who unlock the door.
For example a cleaning lady unlocking the door would tell me the cleaning lady arrived other than just telling me that someone unlocked the door.
The M3 hub has this data I really hope it’s sometime who opened the door can be part of what home assistant can see from this lock. Given my zigbee lock did this I’m rather disappointed this isn’t available in a brand new lock in 2026.
That said the ease of adding users, creating temporary pin codes It’s all better than my old lock. YOu don’t do those kind of things everyday.
