U400 Bluetooth issue connecting with Aqara App

I have three of these locks, all paired to my Thread border router (an Apple TV 4K). UWB works on all three. I’ve also paired each lock via Bluetooth in the Aqara app.

When I’m near the locks, I can open the Aqara app and connect to manage two of them without any issues. However, one of the three will not connect locally over Bluetooth in the app.

I’ve reset that lock multiple times and re-paired it, but the issue persists.

Has anyone else experienced this? If so, did you end up working with Aqara support to get a replacement?

For reference:
Lock not working
• Firmware: 3.1.0.4
• Production date: 11/2025

Locks working
• Firmware: 3.1.0.4
• Production date: 01/2026 and 12/2025

I would definitely contact support as this information could help them track down the issue in case it’s from a bad run or something. The dates being a potential tell.

Assuming you have an iphone, when you stand near the lock and look in your phone’s bluetooth settings do you see the lock in the list?

After a half day of experimenting, my lock is working through Apple Home (HomePod Mini as Thread router). We love the unlocking features with our phones and watch. I’m now trying to connect it to the Aqara App because I read that I need that for updates and additional features through the app. I can’t connect it to the Aqara App through Bluetooth. When I enter the pairing code it says I need a hub. When I look in my Bluetooth settings it shows the U400 connected, but it isn’t in the Aqara App. Thanks in advance for your help. I originally had it set up in Aqara and did the firmware update and then disconnected it when I couldn’t get Home to connect. I don’t want another Hub and it seems like I don’t need one, so I must be doing something wrong. :(. Help. This lock IS amazing.

Update. I started over tonight. I reset the lock. I removed the device from Apple Home. I started fresh with the Aqara App. This time, I added the lock to Apple Home via our Home Pod Mini thread router. After it was added, I immediately tried connecting it to the Aqara app via Bluetooth (but used my iPad) to scan the “magic code”. It worked just like the directions stated, unlike my previous attempts. I suggest, if you have trouble, reset, unplug your thread router, restart it and I’m not sure if it mattered, but someone else said connecting to the Aqara app with their iPad solved their problem, and this time it worked for me. We love the lock. We love the features of opening the door (UWB) with our phones and/or Apple watches. I learned a lot of technical terms to get this all working, as this is the only “smart” feature in our home, and it was worth it. I suggest screenshots for each step and troubleshooting suggestions with screenshots.
