U400 - Homey Uses - Ask me any ill test it

:closed_lock_with_key: Aqara U400 + UWB + Homey = almost perfect smart-lock vibes

Just finished setting up the Aqara U400 Smart Lock, and I’ve gotta say… this thing is slick.

:sparkles: UWB unlock is the star

Walk up to the door → it just unlocks. No fumbling, no tapping, no “why isn’t this working.” It feels futuristic in the right way.

:house: Homey integration = solid

Works great with Homey, automations are clean, and it fits nicely into my broader smart-home flows.

 Wife Approval Factor: HIGH

This is the big one.

  • No complicated steps
  • No weird delays
  • Just works when you get home

That alone makes it a win in my book.

:pinching_hand: My one wish…

I really wish the Homey integration was more in line with Apple Home when it comes to user access management. I’d love to:

  • Manage users directly in Apple Home
  • Control who has access and when from one familiar place
  • Let Homey mirror that instead of managing users separately

Not a deal-breaker, but it would take this from great to chef’s kiss.

Overall?

If you want a smart lock that feels modern, passes the spouse test, and plays well with Homey — the Aqara U400 is a strong contender. :fire:

@ryan19 Thanks for sharing your detailed experience with the Aqara U400! It’s awesome to hear that the UWB unlock feels so seamless and futuristic—no fumbling with devices truly elevates the smart home vibe. Homey integration sounding solid and nailing the “Wife Approval Factor”? That’s the real win, right?

Your wish for more aligned user access management between Apple Home and Homey makes total sense—streamlining that would definitely take things to the next level.
