U400 smart locks and Bluetooth

I’ve had the U400 for a few weeks now and noticed this on my phone Bluetooth area. I know the lock needs Bluetooth. Does this stay on as connected all the time? Is this normal? Is that because of the UWB only when home.

@mr8ballman The U400’s Bluetooth connection isn’t always active—it typically connects when your phone is within the BLE communication range (35m in open space) . This is normal behavior, as the lock uses Bluetooth for local functions like user management, unlocking/locking, and firmware updates .

As for UWB, it works within a shorter range (10m) to enable hands-free unlocking as you approach, which is why you might notice it more when you’re near home . The Bluetooth connection status can fluctuate based on proximity, so occasional disconnections when you’re out of range are expected.

If you notice unusual connection issues (like constant disconnections even when nearby), feel free to share more details—we can troubleshoot further
