Hey folks, just wanted to drop in and share my experience getting all my Aqara stuff working smoothly with Siri. Figured it might help some of you out, especially if you’re juggling a bunch of devices like I am.
First off, I’m no tech wizard—just your average smart home junkie who’s been deep in this game for a while. I’ve got a mix of Aqara sensors, switches, and a couple of hubs running through Apple HomeKit. Getting Siri to play nice with all of them took some trial and error, but now it’s buttery smooth.
Here’s the key: don’t rely solely on the Aqara app. Once your devices are added to HomeKit via the Hub, you’ve gotta take the time to customize in the Apple Home app. Give your devices simple, Siri-friendly names. Like “Living Room Light” instead of “Aqara Smart Wall Switch QBZ Modellowxyz.” Trust me, Siri doesn’t vibe with long names.
Also, set up scenes! I’ve got one called “Movie Time” that dims the lights and closes the curtains with a single “Hey Siri” command. Game changer.
Random pro tip: If something stops responding randomly, reboot your Aqara Hub (just unplug for 15 secs). Fixes 90% of the weirdness.
Anyone else have favorite Siri commands or cool automations with Aqara gear? Always on the hunt for new ideas!
