I recently added a new Aspire battery-powered Z-Wave switch to my Home Assistant setup and set up an automation to control a GoControl Z-Wave bulb in my closet. However, I noticed an unexpected issue where this new switch is also controlling my kitchen lights, which are managed by an Inovelli switch. This is puzzling as there should be no connection between these devices.
I have checked the following to troubleshoot the issue:
- Z-Wave Network Health: I reviewed the Z-Wave network using the Home Assistant developer tools and confirmed that all devices are properly paired and functioning without errors.
- Switch Configuration: I verified that the new Aspire switch is only associated with the intended GoControl bulb in the Z-Wave settings.
- Automation Rules: I double-checked the automation rules to ensure that the new switch is not mistakenly linked to the kitchen lights.
- Firmware Updates: I checked for any available firmware updates for both the Aspire switch and the Inovelli switch, but no updates were available.
- Manual Testing: I manually operated the new switch to see if it affects the kitchen lights without the automation running. Unfortunately, the issue persists.
This behavior is concerning as it creates unintended interactions within my smart home setup. I would greatly appreciate any insights or suggestions on how to resolve this issue. If anyone has encountered a similar problem or has specific knowledge about Z-Wave device interactions, please share your experiences or solutions. Thanks in advance for your help!
