Upcycling an Old Metal Drum Table with Mosaic Tiles

I came across this old, beat-up metal drum table at a local flea market, and I couldn’t resist bringing it home. It had some water stains and looked pretty worn out, but I saw potential in it. I decided to give it a new lease of life by turning it into a mosaic table top!

I started by searching my local craft stores for some beautiful tiles. I found these stunning iridescent luster tiles in blues, purples, greens, pinks, and aquas. The colors were vibrant and caught my eye immediately. To make the tiles pop, I chose blue grout that matched the base of the table. It was a bit time-consuming—gluing each tile one by one took a couple of days—but I put on my headphones, listened to some music, and enjoyed the process. It was a great way to unwind and get creative.

Now, my front porch looks amazing with this new table! It’s such a conversation starter, and I love how it transformed from something old and neglected into a beautiful piece. This project has inspired me to try more DIY projects around the house. If you’re looking for a fun and rewarding way to upcycle furniture, I highly recommend giving mosaic work a try!
