Is there a plan in the works yet to enable us to purchase an additional battery for the U400? It would be a lot easier to be able to swap batteries than have to hang a charger from the lock while chargingā€¦

Damn it, I really donā€™t know what to do now. I get that you canā€™t be more specific, it is so tempting to wait for the UWB version. But I wanna install the locks at least this year.

Regarding the old U200, I read many reports of failed locks. Have these issues been fully resolved? If so, how can I recognize a batch with the fixed hardware? In theory, the Apple Home Key functionality would be sufficient for me.

Hello Our team has noted this comment. Weā€™re applying for battery certifications to sell lithium batteries separately, and I expect them to be live on Amazon within 3 months.

Based on the latest announcements on what to expect at IFA from Aqara, I think itā€™s now safe to say that there will be no news regarding the upgraded U200, right?

Visitors can get a close look at several new lighting, security, sensing, and connectivity products:

  • Smart Lighting Series: Redefining indoor and outdoor illumination, the Aqara Smart Lighting Series combines Thread, Zigbee, 2000ā€“9000K tunable white, Apple Adaptive Lighting, and AI-powered personalization.
  • Camera G510 (Battery) and Security Station M410: a subscription-free home security system with solar-powered cameras, local storage, straightforward setup, and a powerful siren for whole-home protection.
  • Spatial Multi-Sensor FP400: an advanced mmWave presence sensor designed to understand activity within a space and support advanced automations.
  • Edge Hub M300: An edge hub that delivers user-friendly control and installer-grade power, running standalone or bridging effortlessly into professional smart-home ecosystems.

The U200 as you state will be as an upgrade not an new devices made from scratch and this type of devices usually will be released in between the new devices this is why Aqara do not mention it on the IFA

I is not because there is already an U200 smart lock that was released then the new one is an upgrade version not an hole new smart lock there four it canā€™t be presented to IFA as a new device.more the only difference would be that UWB and some improvements under the hud.

I hope the issues with the current U200 will be resolved once Aqara starts selling the new versionā€¦ Unfortunately, this lock turned out to be a major headache for me. I had it replaced three or four times, but nothing helped. In the end, as compensation, they provided me with a G400 and an extra M3 hub for free.
