Hey everyone, I’ve been looking into upgrading my home automation setup and I’ve got a question about smart blinds. I’ve got these wooden 50mm blinds that are still manual, and I’d love to make them electric. I came across the Somfy conversion kit on Rolluikstore, but it’s quite pricey at €270 for just one blind. Since I have five blinds to convert, that’s a significant investment. I stumbled upon the Dooya motor online, which seems more affordable, priced between €40-70 on AliExpress. It’s compatible with the Brel Homey app for control, which is a plus.
I’m curious if anyone has experience with this motor and the installation process. I’d love to hear about any tips or challenges others have faced when converting their blinds. Also, I know there’s a Somfy tilt-only motor, but I’d prefer one that can both tilt and lift. I have 230V power available at the installation points, so that’s not an issue. Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated! I’m really excited to take this step but want to make sure I’m making the right choice. Thanks in advance for your help!
