I’ve been using the ISY 994i with Insteon devices for years, and while it’s been reliable, I feel it’s time to modernize. The eisy upgrade offers better Z-Wave range and compatibility, which is exactly what I need. Here’s my journey so far:
Current Setup
- ISY 994i running 5.0.16C
- 41 Insteon devices, including thermostats and keypad dimmers
- 4 Schlage powered door locks
- 3 Aeotec R6 Z-Wave repeaters
Goals
- Clean up my existing setup
- Integrate Elk security and control
- Ensure a smooth transition to the eisy platform
Challenges and Solutions
- Half of my devices need regrouping or renaming. I’m considering resetting to factory defaults to start fresh.
- Planning to install a new A/C unit with modern integration capabilities. Open to suggestions!
