Hello everyone!
I wanted to share my recent journey of upgrading my smart lighting setup and how it’s transformed my home. I’ve always been a fan of DIY projects, and this one was definitely a labor of love. ![]()

I started with my kitchen LED strips, which were functional but lacked the smart features I desired. After some research, I decided to upgrade to the H6143 WiFi-compatible LED strips. The installation was straightforward, and the difference is night and day! Not only can I control them via Alexa, but the color transitions are smoother, and the brightness is more consistent. My family and I are thoroughly impressed—these lights have truly elevated the ambiance of our kitchen. ![]()
But this upgrade got me thinking about other areas of my home where I could apply similar smart solutions. I’ve always been fascinated by the idea of automating my lighting based on the time of day. Imagine waking up to a gradual sunrise simulation and winding down to a calming sunset effect. It sounds like a luxury, but with the right tools, it’s achievable!
I stumbled upon the SharpTools app, which seems to have the functionality I need. However, setting up the color temperature transitions over time feels a bit overwhelming. I’m considering whether there’s a more streamlined way to achieve this without creating an extensive list of rules. If anyone has experience with this or can suggest a better approach, I’d love to hear your thoughts! ![]()

Another project I’ve been eyeing is integrating my Fibaro roller shutters into my Home Assistant setup. While I can control them through the app, I’d love to automate their operation based on sunrise and sunset times. The challenge is finding them in the devices list when setting up automations. I’m curious if there’s a configuration step I’m missing or if others have encountered similar issues.
