Hey everyone, I wanted to share my recent upgrade to my smart lighting setup using Govee products. After installing a Govee RGBIC strip on my rock climbing wall in my basement a few months ago, I’ve been absolutely blown away by the results. The vibrant colors and smooth transitions have completely transformed the space, making it both functional and visually appealing.
I’ve been so impressed that I decided to install another strip to balance the lighting on both sides of the wall. The installation process was straightforward, and the Govee app has made it easy to customize the settings to suit my needs. I’m even considering adding some of their newer RGB bulbs to the basement when they become available again.
One challenge I faced initially was ensuring smooth video surveillance with my Foscam cameras. I set up dynamic DNS with my NetGear router to handle my dynamic IP and used random ports for each camera to enhance security. While the setup works, I’m still looking for a more reliable iOS app for viewing the feeds. The Foscam viewer app works, but I’d love something with better performance.
I’m also exploring the integration of my Govee lights with other smart home devices. The ability to create custom animations and schedules has been a game-changer, and I’m excited to see how I can expand this setup further.
