Upgrading to OH3: A Smooth Transition with Questions

Hi all, I’ve recently upgraded my setup from OH2.5 to OH3, and overall, the process seemed straightforward. I followed the official guidelines and managed to migrate my .things, .items, and .rules files without any major hiccups. However, there are a few things that have me a bit puzzled, and I’d love to hear your thoughts or experiences.

First off, I noticed a warning when logging into PuTTY: sed: can’t read /var/lib/openhab2/etc/version.properties: No such file or directory. I’m not sure if this is something to be concerned about or if it’s just a minor glitch. Additionally, the openHABian version still shows as 2.5.11-1, which is a bit confusing since I expected it to reflect the upgrade to version 3. Is this normal, or am I missing a step in the upgrade process?

Another thing I’m curious about is the migration of my existing groups and sitemap. I’ve always used .items files to define groups, but I understand that OH3 introduces a new semantic model. I’m wondering if there’s a way to migrate these groups and my sitemap using configuration files, or if this process is now entirely UI-based. I’d love to avoid redoing everything manually if possible!

Lastly, I’ve been using frontail for log monitoring, and it seems to have stopped working after the upgrade. I’m not sure if this is a known issue or if there’s a workaround. Has anyone else experienced this, or do you have any suggestions for alternative log monitoring tools that are compatible with OH3?

Overall, I’m excited about the potential improvements and new features that OH3 brings, but I’d appreciate any insights or advice from the community to help me navigate these initial hurdles. Thanks in advance for your help!
