Upgrading to OpenHAB3: Web Interface Freezing Issues

Recently, I decided to upgrade my home automation system from OpenHAB2 to OpenHAB3 with a fresh install. The goal was to build everything from scratch while retaining the functionality of my existing scripts. My setup includes various devices such as Z-Wave, Telldus, and MQTT, which I’ve been managing successfully for quite some time.

The upgrade process itself went smoothly, and I was excited to start configuring my new environment. However, I’ve encountered a significant issue with the web interface freezing periodically. This freezing occurs most frequently when I attempt to access the ‘Things’ section from the sidebar. The content keeps loading indefinitely, forcing me to reboot the system via SSH to regain control.

Upon reviewing the log files, I didn’t find any error messages that could pinpoint the cause of the freezing. The logs appear clean, which makes diagnosing the issue quite challenging. I’ve tried several troubleshooting steps, including clearing the browser cache, reinstalling the web interface, and even optimizing the Raspberry Pi’s performance settings.

I’d greatly appreciate any insights or suggestions from the community on how to resolve this issue. Has anyone else experienced similar problems during the upgrade process? Are there specific configurations or optimizations that could help stabilize the web interface? Any guidance would be invaluable as I work to get everything up and running smoothly again.
