what products are truly “ready for prime time” that have matter over thread support?
I have multiple HomePod Minis and an AppleTV for hubs. I personally love my Aqara FP2 motion sensors, I have one in every room to control my Nanoleaf A19 matter bulbs. I have the bulbs and plan to switch to matter over thread switches, only have one so far. I did pick up the new IKEA matter over thread dual smart button, no issues so far. I have an Aqara smart lock too but forget which one off of the top of my head. I have a new Roomba that supports matter and works well with Apple home. The only time I’ve had many issues is when my old Apple TV that doesn’t support matter became the default home hub for some reason. Other than that, pretty happy. Good luck!
The latest Ikea lineup is a great example. Luckly we have many of good examples. Another product that ticks multiple boxes are the Aqara T2 bulbs. They’re cheap, great quality and advanced
Just turn off the automated selection of your hub in the Apple Home settings and choose the device manually which works best as a hub.
Can you use the IKEA products with just the Apple TV (as a thread Router)? No additional hub needed?
These are the Aqara devices I have connected to Home Assistant via Matter. Most devices are exposed to HA via the M3 and M2 hubs via Zigbee. I am really enjoying all of these Aqara products.
U100, U300, U400 Door Locks
Smart Plug (US)
T2 LED Bulbs
Door and Window Sensors
T1 LED Strips
Yes, I have an IKEA button added it directly to Apple Home and did not need any additonal hub.
