Using the H2 smart socket, caring for loved ones through technology

Good afternoon!
They say: “Life is lived, not a field to be crossed.” Unfortunately, our family faced a test - my wife’s illness. We went through this stage together, side by side, and now we are learning to live by new rules.
One of these rules is the mandatory taking of hormonal drugs every morning at a clearly defined time. The question arose: how to provide my wife with a glass of warm water right next to the bed so that she doesn’t have to get up?
Solving the problem.
I purchased an office cup warmer. So that the water was at the right temperature at the moment of waking up, I connected it to the H2 smart socket. I set up an automation scenario: the socket turns on and off at a specified time.

Safety and overheating protection.
For reliability, I added a few more levels of protection:
Time limit: I created an automation that automatically turns off the outlet if someone tries to turn it on outside the set morning schedule.
Fig.2

Power control: I set up protection based on current consumption (over 30 W). If the power exceeds the norm, the outlet instantly turns off, and I receive a push notification on my phone.

Now I am calm that the medication will be taken on time and comfortably.

By the way, I have 5 more useful automations based on the following outlets:

  • Heating the food cellar;
  • Controlling the heated towel rail;
  • Heating the workshop;
  • Automatically turning on the TV;
  • Controlling the pump for pumping drinking water into the system.

Technology really makes life easier, especially when it serves the family’s good.

Thank you for your attention, see you soon!

Hello, thank you for appreciating my work. I must say that this automation of heating water for medicines for life. Now in our house it is called not a disease but a lifestyle😊

I’m genuinely curious about the drinking water pump automation. Managing a pressure-sensitive system with a smart plug is usually a recipe for rapid cycling or pressure drops. Did you find a way to bypass the mechanical pressure switch, or are you just using it for “on/off” scheduling?
Also, with the food cellar - are you using the heater to keep it just above freezing, or is there some more complex climate control involved?

Hello. Based on this lesson, I have water level control in the drinking water tank ( Automation 2.0 lesson 20. Plugin for the Aqara leak sensor, water control in the pool (tank) ).

The cellar temperature control is built into the combination of the Aqara T1 thermometer + socket + heater. The automation provides priority heating at night (three-zone electricity tariff), at other times only critical heating is used.
