I’ve been exploring ways to make my home heating more efficient, and I thought it would be great to use weather forecast data to control my night storage heaters. Currently, I manually turn them on the night before it gets cold, but that’s not very convenient. I came across the idea of using a Shelly 1PM to create an automation that checks the expected outside temperature and switches the heater on in advance.

Maybe there’s a specific API or integration that works well for fetching weather data and triggering the automation. I’m also curious about how accurate the weather forecasts are for this purpose and if there are any potential issues I should be aware of.
