Hey everyone, I’ve got an idea I’d love to get your thoughts on. I’ve been using WyzeCam v2 cameras for a while now, and they’ve been fantastic for home surveillance. Now, I’m thinking of taking one step further and using it as a dashcam on my motorcycle. Here’s the plan: I’ll plug the WyzeCam into a USB power outlet on my bike and use it to record my travels on an SD card. It sounds simple enough, but I want to make sure there aren’t any hidden issues before I go all in.
First off, I’ve ordered three WyzeCam units, so I’m really looking forward to trying this out. But I want to be prepared for any potential hiccups. I’ve heard that power supply can be a concern on motorcycles, especially with USB ports. I’m wondering if the power from my bike’s USB outlet is stable enough for the WyzeCam to function properly without any glitches. Any advice on ensuring a reliable power supply would be super helpful.
Another thing I’m curious about is camera placement. I want to mount the WyzeCam in a spot that gives a good view of the road ahead but also stays secure while I’m riding. Has anyone tried something similar? Any tips on the best way to mount a dashcam on a motorcycle without it getting in the way or vibrating too much?
I’m also thinking about storage. The WyzeCam records to an SD card, which is great, but I want to make sure I’m using the right type and size of card. I’ve heard that higher-speed cards can sometimes cause issues with certain devices. Does anyone have experience with SD cards in WyzeCams and have recommendations on what works best?
I’ve checked out some forums and seen that others have used WyzeCams for dashcams, but I’m still a bit nervous about potential issues like overheating or connectivity problems. If anyone has tried this setup or something similar, I’d love to hear about your experiences—both the good and the bad!
Thanks in advance for all your insights. I’m really excited to give this a shot and hopefully get some great footage of my adventures on the road!
