Hey everyone! I wanted to share a fun project I’ve been working on to enhance my smart home setup. I’ve been using Xiaomi Round Buttons strategically placed around my house, especially in areas like the bathroom and bedroom where I don’t always have my smartphone handy. While they’ve been great for toggling lights on and off, I always wanted to take it a step further—being able to adjust the brightness of my smart LEDs directly from these buttons.
After some tinkering, I created an Appdaemon script that allows me to do just that! The script is designed so that when I hold down the Xiaomi button, the brightness of my connected LEDs increases. If it goes beyond 100%, it simply wraps around back to 0%, making it seamless and intuitive. It’s been a fantastic addition to my setup, and I thought I’d share it with the community in case others might find it useful.
You can find the script in my GitHub repository, where I’ve included detailed instructions on how to set it up. I’d love to hear if anyone else has tried something similar or has suggestions for improvement! Let’s keep the creativity flowing!
Best regards, [Your Name]
