I’ve been exploring the world of smart home devices and recently got my hands on a Vera2 controller. Setting it up was a breeze with the wizard, and the firmware upgrade went smoothly. However, after moving to a new location, I noticed some connectivity issues. The power, Ethernet, Wi-Fi, and USB lights were constantly on, but the Ethernet and Z-Wave indicators weren’t responding as expected. I tried resetting the network and using different cables, but nothing seemed to fix the networking problems. It was a bit frustrating, but submitting a support ticket gave me some hope for a resolution.
In the meantime, I’ve been experimenting with integrating other devices into my setup. For instance, connecting Schneider PM1200 power meters to the Panel Server Advanced was a challenge, but I managed to find some workarounds by checking if custom device models were available. It’s been a great learning experience, and I’m excited to see how this integration will enhance my energy monitoring capabilities.
Another interesting project I’ve been working on is setting up Wyze outdoor cameras. While the rechargeable batteries are supposed to last 3-6 months, I’m curious about whether this refers to the time between charges or the total battery life. I’ve also been exploring the timeline feature on my cameras to view longer clips, which has been really helpful in reviewing events more thoroughly.
Overall, my journey with Vera2 and other smart devices has been both rewarding and a bit challenging. It’s amazing how much control and insight you can gain with the right setup, even if it requires some troubleshooting along the way. I’m looking forward to sharing more tips and experiences as I continue to expand my smart home ecosystem.
