Hey everyone, I just got my Vera2 from Smarthome and I’m really excited to dive into it! However, I have a few questions and observations that I’d love to share and get some advice on.
First off, the hardware I received doesn’t look anything like the photos on the website. I’m guessing it’s the next generation Vera. There’s no dongle in the box and very little documentation. Is the dongle missing, or has its functionality been integrated into the base unit? I’m a bit confused about that.
Another thing I’m dealing with is my Fibaro wall plug 2. It always adds as ‘not secure’ (see screenshot). I’ve tried factory resetting it and adding it again, but it still shows as insecure. Does anyone know how to add it securely?
I also added a NeoCoolcam PIR a few weeks ago, and now I just added an identical device. However, the node IDs and product names are different. The first one is named ‘Hallway PIR’ with product name ‘Battery Powered PIR Sensor’, while the new one is ‘Neo CoolCam Unknown: type=0003, id=108d’. I can’t seem to rename the new one properly. Any suggestions on how to fix this?
Lastly, I came across a really cool project where someone created a butterfly sheep effect. It looks amazing, and I was wondering if anyone else has tried something similar or has tips on how to get started with custom effects like this.
