Viessmann Boiler Control with Tado: Hot Water Temperature Puzzle

Hello everyone, I’m new to the world of smart home automation and I’m currently working on integrating my Viessmann system boiler with Tado. I’ve managed to set up the Opentherm control via the EU wireless extender, and it seems to be working well for heating. However, I’m facing an issue with the hot water temperature control that I’m hoping someone can help me with.

I’ve successfully set the hot water temperature via the Tado app, and the boiler modulates nicely. But here’s the problem: when I turn off the hot water via the Tado app, the boiler still shows hot water as ‘on’ and maintains a temperature of 55°C. I’m confused about where this 55°C setting is coming from. Is it a default setting from the boiler, or is it being commanded by Tado somehow?

I’ve noticed that in the Tado app, the ‘hot water control’ section shows two devices: the wireless receiver (which I assume is the zone controller for other rooms) and the smart thermostat. I’m not entirely sure if I want the smart thermostat to act as a second zone controller or if I just want it to function as a wireless temperature sensor. Could this be part of the issue?

I’ve tried adjusting various settings in the Tado app, but nothing seems to resolve the problem. The boiler continues to maintain the 55°C temperature even when I’ve turned off the hot water via the app. I’m starting to think that there might be a configuration step I’m missing or perhaps a setting within the boiler itself that needs to be adjusted.

If anyone has experience with integrating Viessmann boilers with Tado or has encountered a similar issue, I’d greatly appreciate any advice or insights you can provide. Let’s work together to solve this puzzle and get my hot water control working as intended!

Thanks in advance for your help!
