I have had some aqara devices move to a different room in AppleHome. They stay in the right room in the Aqara app. And, they look fine there. In both cases it has been a sensor (FP300 and contact sensor). Other sensors were fine. This has happened twice. Once when the internet went down for a few minutes. The other time was when I changed an Apple border router. The worst part of the problem was that I lost the automations associated with these sensors. What could cause this?

A key thing to check is whether your Aqara hub/camera and your Apple Home Hub (Apple TV/HomePod) are consistently staying on the same LAN. I had this issues when I first added my device. When I restarted my router and hub, I stop having the disconnection
I see the same thing with my FP300s but usually only after the M3 hub they are connected through rebinds to the matter server. Everything all good in Aqara home app, but I see the devices in HA have rebound (either duplicated entity id’s but with _1 after the entity name). The new entities are live and old entities are unavailable which breaks automations to your point.
Do you have your devices going into Home Assistant or just using AppleHome? HA has a great service called Watchman which I have running on a schedule to check for unavailable entities and scripts with entity id errors.
