W200 Thermostat Rh/Rc Power

I have a divided heating/cooling system, and unfortunately, my “common” “C” wire is on the heating side. The W200 cannot be powered through the Rh line, so now I’ve got to figure out how to get a “common” wire on the cooling side. This shouldn’t be much trouble as there is a spare wire leading to my AC cooling, but it should be noted that this something the Ecobee I planned to replace has no problems with. The W200 should be able to get power from either Rh or Rc and not just one of them.

I’m no HVAC Expert, but why can’t you just put Rh on the Rc terminal? That’s what the manual says to do, and that’s how I set mine up - Rh and no Rc here.

If you have only Rh (heating only), then yes, it can be connected to Rc and work fine. If you have both Rc and Rh (cooling & heating), your C (common) needs to be from the same transformer providing Rc. My Ecobee doesn’t care. The W200 does.
